Prepare photos for AI search

For photos to be findable in text search, they first need to be “prepared” — turned into a searchable form. Preparation is also the basis for smart collections like receipts and business cards.

Before you begin

• Let Kura-chan read your photos first — see Add your photos to Kura-chan.
• AI search preparation is a paid feature. It isn’t available on the free plan.

Prepare photos

1. Open Photos → Preferences and find the AI search section.

2. Click Prepare all remaining — the button shows how many photos are left.

3. Let it run in the background. Preparation continues while you use Kura-chan.

Make new photos searchable automatically

Turn on Auto-prepare in the same section. Kura-chan prepares a small batch of photos (including older ones) every minute, making new photos searchable over time.

Note

Preparation uses your monthly quota and handles images only — videos are not prepared.
